DYNAMICS OF CONTEMPORARY DEMOCRATIC SOCIETIES
The Brazilian Center for Analysis and Planning (CEBRAP, Brazil) and the Maria Sibylla Merian Centre in Humanities and Social Sciences Conviviality in Unequal Societies are calling for applications to the São Paulo Advanced School of Social Sciences, funded by São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP), to be held from 28th August to 5th September, 2017, at University of São Paulo.
The Advanced School of Social Sciences will select 80 participants and offer a limited number of scholarships partially funding travel and hotel expenses for participants (see below). Participants financed by the program will present their research in special panels during the week.

The Advanced School of Social Sciences will select 80 participants as follows:
1. Post-docs from the CEBRAP International Post-doctoral Program 2017 and 2016.
2. Post-docs, doctoral candidates and master candidates selected by the Maria Sibylla Merian International Centre.
3. Post-docs, doctoral candidates and master candidates selected by international partners of the CEBRAP International Post-doctoral Program: Center for Latin American Studies/Princeton University (EUA), University of Bath (UK), Latin American Studies/ University of Cambridge (UK), Käte Hamburger Kolleg/ Centre for Global Cooperation Research (Germany), Institute for Development and Peace (University Duisburg Essen, Germany), Freie Universität Berlin and Institute of Development Studies –IDS (UK).

5. Candidates in other positions will be considered if there are remaining places
2. Scholarship
The Advanced School of Social Sciences will offer 10 scholarships funding travel and hotel expenses for participants.
Post-doc candidates will have preference in the distribution of the scholarships, according to their academic merit.
Participants financed by the program will present their research in special panels during the week.
Applications should be sent according to the requirements bellow. Applicants should justify the need for scholarship in their letters.
